Developmentally appropriate, play-based learning is the most effective teaching and learning method for early childhood education classrooms. In this session, we will explore resources available to educators in the Utah Early Learning Core Standards and the Early Learning Standards Strategies and Activities documents. These resources can be used to plan for effective and engaging learning experiences in the classroom with a specific focus on meeting literacy and numeracy standards. Using the principles of Personalized Competency Based Learning (PCBL), participants will observe examples of integrated curriculum in early learning classrooms, reflect and discuss the examples, and develop plans and strategies for implementing effective integrated play-based learning in their own classrooms.

Participants should bring a laptop, tablet, or smartphone to access web-based learning activities and resources to fully participate in this session.
