Dr. Cox is an Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership at Utah Valley University. He received his doctorate in educational leadership from Lehigh University, his M.Ed. in educational administration from Arizona State University, and his B.A. in history from Brigham Young University. He worked for 25 years in public education in Mesa, Arizona, as a teacher and administrator, was named outstanding principal and served as the President of the Mesa Association of School Administrators. He served as an international school administrator in China for 13 years. During his international years, he served as a principal, head of school, and as the Vice President Asia-Pacific for International School Services. He also served as the Vice President of the Board of Trustees of the Association of China and Mongolia International Schools. His research and training emphases have been teacher recruitment, school leadership, school improvement, and learning innovation. He is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese and has lived in Asia for 18 years. He and his wife are the parents of six children, four of whom are public school educators, and the grandparents of seventeen grandchildren.
